What Can You Expect From My Lessons?
I'm more than happy to teach anyone, of any age, wherever they are. I'd describe myself as patient, enthusiastic (especially when it comes to music!), genuine and passionate.
Lessons focus on what makes drumming or guitar enjoyable whilst improving technically which will then impress even experienced players.
All too often, music lessons can become complicated and people are taught things without knowing why and how it helps you and, having been through that myself with, my goal is to make every lesson crystal clear in it's outcome.
Coming from experience, musicians, can often become really down beat about their ability when comparing to others around them. But the key is to ENJOY what you're playing so you're able to keep coming back to your instrument with enthusiasm.
More specifically we'll look at playing drum grooves and fills to our favourite songs, building up a variety of rudiments that we can use around the kit on a day-to-day basis, strengthening our technique(s), building up our reading skills as well as improvisation. Lastly, we'll work on accompaniment to a wide variety of genres and styles such as funk, Latin, rock, jazz, pop, indie - whatever puts us out of comfort zone to help develop our knowledge and skills on the kit when playing to songs we know and love.
That's my goal as a tutor - improving a few basic details (which make the WORLD of difference) whilst having fun!
